You don’t have to be a genius to know that Gilmore Girls would be nothing without Rory Gilmore, and Alexis Bledel was ultimately given the chance to bring this character to life.
However, she wasn’t the only one who decided to audition for the part. Liza Weil also hoped to step into the shoes of the young woman, but she just missed out on the part. All wasn’t lost for Liza, though. Producers were incredibly impressed with her acting talent, so they wrote her another role in the form of Paris Geller.
