Can you imagine saying goodbye to your spouse for six months? For some of us, it’s a thought we don’t bear thinking about, because it’s too painful. This is the life that military wives and girlfriends live on an annual basis, but goodbyes don’t get any easier.
No matter how many times they have said goodbye to their significant other in the past, each time is just as painful as the last. The worries are there, the tears are flowing, and the heart is constantly aching. It’s something you just don’t get used to.
