When a movie is preserved by the United States National Film Registry, then you know it’s a good one. Steven Spielberg’s sci-fi flick ‘E.T. the Etra-Terrestrial’ is considered one of the greatest works of cinema ever produced.
When it debuted in the ‘80s, it had an immense cultural significance, and things have stayed that way ever since. For 11 years, it was the best-grossing film ever made, which is perhaps why people have allegedly justified putting a price tag of $2,000 on the VHS copy of the movie.
