It would become evident pretty soon that Robert Wadlow would never get to live a normal life. However, growing up he refused to let that get to him, and did everything he could to be as much like a child his age as he possibly could.
One of the ways he did that was joining the Boy Scouts in his early teens. There was just one problem – by age 14 he was seven-foot-five and weighed over 300 pounds! To accommodate his enormous size, a tailor-made uniform, tent, and sleeping bag were made for him.
