Cyrus very briefly made a pivot into gospel music, in an attempt to court a religious audience. He released the album ‘The Other Side’ on Word Records, a Christian music label. The album was a collection of gospel songs, including a cover of the hymn ‘Amazing Grace’.
‘The Other Side’ made it to the top 5 of the Christian music charts, but failed to achieve much success anywhere else. Due to the poor sales, it was the only album Cyrus would make with Word Records.
