There was a considerable age gap between Cher and Sonny, he being 27 when they met. However, the two of them hit it off and soon began working as a duo, while also entering a relationship. The two of them released music in several unsuccessful configurations until they scored big with the release of ‘I Got You Babe’ in 1965.
The song was a smash hit and launched Sonny and Cher into instant notoriety. This would be the start of everything for the duo.
