Cher’s career would remain solid over the next few years, despite some ups and downs. Her show ‘Cher’ only lasted a year due to her dislike of doing a show solo, but was nevertheless a smash hit that established her as a truly formidable entertainer.
Cher also wanted to change musical direction somewhat, and managed to score a hit with disco record ‘Take Me Home’. Her foray in rock ‘n’ roll was much less successful, however. Eventually, Cher’s album sales stalled, prompting her to break from music for a while to focus on acting.
