Sonny and Cher’s capacity to survive without each other would soon be tested, as they debuted their respective solo shows. Sonny’s show, ‘The Sonny Comedy Revue’ began airing in 1974, and was a ratings flop, lasting for only 13 episodes.
On the other hand, ‘Cher’, which started airing in 1975, was a huge success, showcasing the full breadth of Cher’s talents, and attracting superstars like Elton John, Bette Middler, David Bowie, and The Jackson 5.
