One must remember that Woodstock took place right in the middle of the Vietnam War. Many of the hippies and peaceniks attending this fun event were strongly against the war, and not even great music could shake their despair.
Knowing that their friends were being conscripted into a war that most agreed was pointless must’ve been terrible. This beautiful woman is captured frowning, deep in thought, as two more people behind her have an equally serious discussion of the current events.
