Despite the name, this fascinating event did not take place in Woodstock, but at a farm 40 miles south in Bethel. Although most can’t tell the difference now, the contrast was captured in historic photographs.
There’s a stark difference between the hustle and bustle of the original venue and the more relaxed, laid back atmosphere at the farm. As shown by this young woman relaxing by a pen, even the farm animals seemed to appreciate staying mellow.
