Karen is the mother of Mike and Nancy Wheeler. She is in loveless marriage with Ted and the two are often either bickering or ignoring each other. In season two we see just how fed up Karen is with her marriage. When Billy Hargrove shows up at her door one night searching for Mike, Karen is instantly attracted. She flirts with him and enjoys his suggestive advances. Although Karen is depicted as the classically overbearing mother, she genuinely loves her children and would fight tooth and nail for them.
