We haven’t focused so much on the specifics of the works of art that adorned the walls of this ship. But make no mistake, there were pieces of French history around every corner.
In this case, you’re looking at a great sliding door which leads to a chapel – and the artwork on this sliding door is that of a mounted Norman knight – which is, of course, a reference to Normandie, the vessel’s name. The forest foliage surrounded the knight is also quite the eye-popper.
