To continue the orca generation within the SeaWorld family, the parks began artificially inseminating female whales at a surprisingly young age. The women would be inseminated, become pregnant, and after giving birth to their calves were immediately separated from them. Taking a new-born calf away from it’s mother directly from the womb leads to mental health implication in the mothers; they experience a form clinical depression and their babies may live unhealthy lifestyle without their parent around to raise them.
