While “just” an aristocrat, Hugh Grosvenor, Duke of Westminster, has enough royal connections to last a lifetime. Close friends with Prince William? Check. Prince George’s godfather? Check and check. Grosvenor doesn’t need any connections, though. He now oversees a real estate empire that owns 300 acres in some of London’s most upscale neighborhoods, and that has made him worth $12.1 billion – the third-richest man in Britain. That obviously comes with some public scrutiny, and the Duke’s been accused of “social cleansing” after attempting to oust 141 tenants to make room for luxury apartments and shops.
