[post_page_title]Choosing Harry’s successor[/post_page_title]
Speaking of stripping Prince Harry of his various titles and responsibilities, it appears as though the move has already been initiated – and we have our first casualty. When Prince Philip retired in 2017, he gave up his position as captain-general of the Royal Marines to his grandson, Prince Harry.

Choosing Harry’s successor

Now that Harry is renouncing his royal status, however, he’s been stripped of the command. A successor has already been chosen, and reportedly she was hand-picked by Philip himself. Taking over for Harry would be none other than his aunt, Princess Anne, who’ll be the first female captain-general of the Royal Marines in British history.
