If Charles is hoping to only focus on those closest to the throne, then Beatrice and Eugenie don’t stand a chance of ever becoming part of the inner circle. That’s something that their father has feared for years, which is why he wrote that letter to the Queen.
He’s apparently afraid that his daughters are being pushed out of the Royal Family, and that once their grandmother passes away, they’ll be forgotten entirely. He refuses to let that happen, though he might not have a say in the matter.
