Ironically, Harry and Meghan’s beautiful gesture towards Philip may end up all being for naught. As the great-grandson of the current monarch, Archie doesn’t automatically qualify for a royal title. However, when the Queen either passes away or abdicates the throne, that’s going to change.
Prince Charles is expected to replace her on the throne, and as the grandson of the monarch Archie will then be eligible to receive a royal title. In other words, it may only be a matter of time until the last name is dropped, and we’ll have to bow down to Prince Archie.
