In the third Harry Potter movie of the franchise we learn that Hermione has been using a time turner to attend all of her classes. That gives her the power to go back, but she only ever uses it for classes.
Considering the amount of danger Harry is always in it would be pretty useful if the time turner was used to fight against Voldemort. Instead it’s returned to the Ministry of Magic and everyone seems to forget they exist.
