When parents see their kids struggling they typically do everything in their power to help them. When Elsa’s dad in Disney’s Frozen found out his daughter had magical powers, he decided to shut her away and make her figure it out herself.
He could have hired the trolls, who knew about magic, to help her, or found someone else who could help her control her powers. Instead she gets shut in her room and has to figure out how to master her powers all by herself.
