Rae’s six-decade career has spanned from the film and television to the stage and even video games. She was nominated for an Emmy for her hilarious portrayal of Edna Garrett in Diff’rent Strokes and The Facts of Life.
In 2015 she authored her first book, the autobiographical The Fact of My Life. Her latest role in the Meryl Streep-starrer drama Ricki and the Flash was her last project and last year she was diagnosed with bone cancer.
