The Yorkshire Terrier, with the nickname Yorkie, is a breed from Yorkshire, England who were originally used to catch rats in clothing mills. They are among the smallest breeds of dogs, ranging from 12 to 15 pounds. Due to their small size they have a long lifespan, usually living 13-16 years. They are known to be bold as well as independent, especially for such a small sized breed. They have a grey, black and tan coat and will fall in love with you just as much you do with them.
