Due to the immense impact that his mother’s lack of approval had on him, Carson felt the need to constantly be in control of every aspect of his life. He was terrified of being exposed or vulnerable, afraid that he would end up being rejected the same way he was by his mother.
As such, he tried to maintain a tight grip on the different areas of his life, unhappy with anything he could not directly control. However, Carson would frequently be unable to exercise such control, which only further worsened his attitude.
