It’s pretty easy to see why Carson’s personal relationships were so fraught throughout his life. His dire lack of confidence led him to be consistently withdrawn and incapable of truly connecting with most people – while his anger and need for control made him highly unpleasant to be around when he felt he had been crossed.
Despite being so personable and effervescent while on camera, Carson could never quite bring that magic to bear in his personal life.
