In November 1971, a man wearing a trench coat, sunglasses, and a hat jumped out of an airplane on the border with Oregon and Washington with over $100,000. The man said that his name was D.B. Cooper, and he claimed to be carrying a bomb on board the 727. The bill in question was found with a small horde allegedly dumped by cooper in the woods. The man who was in possession of the bill fragment sold it for $1,600.
