This Six Flags adventure park in New Orleans closed its doors in preparation for Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Park runners didn’t expect for the park to close forever, but the damage sustained from the hurricane was too serious.

This was taken just two weeks after Katrina hit and the majority of the park remained submerged underwater. The park remains abandoned to this day, and New Orleans police officers are forced to patrol regularly to prevent trespassers from entering.
