Known as the pioneer of “honkey tonk” music, Dwight Yoakam was a breath of fresh air in the 1980s, though he had to move out of Nashville to become a star. He found his footing in Los Angeles, and quickly won over audiences with chart-toppers like ‘Readin’, Rightin’, Route 23.’
But his $45 million fortune isn’t just from his music career. Yoakam has also appeared in numerous TV shows and films (most notably, ‘Sling Blade’), and is the owner of Bakersfield Biscuits, named after his hit song ‘Streets of Bakersfield.
