World War Z was an extremely ambitious movie project, and for anyone who has seen it and been impressed by the unusually convincing CGI – that’s because a lot of it isn’t. This movie was shot in several countries, and required up to thousands of extras (to play zombies and panicked crowds) at every location.
This of course caused logistical difficulties, and put financial strain on the entire production. Not to mention the first ending was scrapped and had to be reshot, adding another $20 million to the $170 million already spent.
