Whaling is still a problem that some countries have yet to give up. Many years ago, before proper restrictions were put in place, plenty of species were heading towards extinction. Bans were placed on the hunting of right whales in 1937 because so few of them remained in the world. Nowadays, the species has been able to breed, and they’re no longer a cause for concern. However, despite there being bans on the hunting of these whales, people continue to do so illegally.
