Here’s an unfortunate truth about Henry Winkler. Years before people knew him as the Fonz, he had a very rough upbringing. His parents were verbally abusive to him, having retained emotional scars from leaving Germany to America during World War II.
Due to Henry’s dyslexia, he had much trouble in school. As a result, his parents called Henry “dumb dog” fairly often, as did many of his teachers. In fact, they said it to him so often that he started to believe them!
