All that was left for Lex to do was repeatedly call her own phone, just hoping her boyfriend would pick up. But she knew chances were slim, as it was way in the back of the car – and he was presumably in the front driving.
And as the people came and went from the gas station, she had to continue approaching strangers, explain her unfortunate situation and just hope they would be willing to hand their phones over so she could keep trying.
