Lex had been napping in the back of the Honda Element, which had been converted for living in – making it the perfect road trip car. Being able to use the car to sleep in meant Lex and her boyfriend neither had to pay for hostels, nor sleep in tents.
So Lex had been comfortably dozing off in the bed in the back, when her boyfriend decided to stop for gas in the middle of the Arizona desert.
