After struggling to bag herself a job after college, Gabourey turned to her therapist to see if they could shed any light on where she should go next. They suggested that Gabourey get a job with a telemarketer to pay the bills – but she soon found herself working in an adult call center. Because the clientele within this call center wanted to speak to white women, Gabourey had to pretend that she was a thin, white woman who really wanted to talk to them in order to bring in the bucks.
