After the mega-success that came after the film came out, talks of a sequel began. Tom Hanks, knowing what was good for him and for the rest of the cast, immediately rejected any involvement in a sequel to Forrest Gump.
We think that was a smart move on Hanks’ part since sequels rarely do as well as the original. He saved Forrest Gump from being like the many films that are done today – sequel after sequel.
