When Forrest gets on the military bus for the first time and sits down next to Bubba, the only person who would allow him to sit next to him, Forrest proceeds to introduce himself.
He says, “My name is Forrest Gump. People call me Forrest Gump.” Many people don’t know that the line was not in the script and that Hanks added that last part right then and there. Director, Robert Zemeckis, liked the addition and decided to keep it.
