Diane Sawyer is one of the most respected journalist of today. But before the in depth interviews and coverage of major world issues, Diane won America’s Junior Miss in 1963.
The win got her a prize of $11,000, which paid for her first year of college at Wellesley College; so we can basically say that without her pageant days, we wouldn’t have the Diane Sawyer we know, respect, and love on our screens today. Honestly, ABC Nightly News wouldn’t have been the same without her.
