Julia got into acting at the young age of 11. She was on the show Ghostwriter from 1993-1994.
She landed some starring roles in the ’90s but it wasn’t until 1999 and her starring role in 10 Things I Hate About You, an adaptation of Shakespeare’s Taming of the Shrew, alongside Heath Ledger, that people really learned her name.

After her continued success in acting, Julia took a break to attend Columbia University.
She returned to acting thereafter with movies like, The Prince and Me, The Omen, The Bourne Ultimatum, Silver Linings Playbook, and Out of the Dark. Julia still looks as though she is in her youth, which is a good thing in Hollywood, for sure.
