[post_page_title]Then – Brigitte Bardot[/post_page_title]
Brigitte Bardot was a French actress, model, and dancer who became a wildly popular symbol of beauty in the 1960s and ‘70s. She was hugely successful in France, and made a number of French movies before making her splash on Hollywood.
She appeared in films such as Act of Love, Helen of Troy, Two Weeks in September, The Frenchie King, and more. She was also the official face of a French liberty movement called Marianne, from 1969 to 1978.

Unfortunately, the ‘70s is where Brigitte left her acting career behind. She officially retired after her final film, The Edifying and Joyous Story of Colinot. However, while she may not have been acting, she certainly kept busy.
She became very involved in animal rights activism, and in 1986 founded the Brigitte Bardot Foundation for the Welfare and Protection of Animals. Outside of animals rights, she is also very active politically. Her current husband, Bernard d’Ormale, who she married in 1992 was formerly an advisor for the Front National party in France.
