It would be a crime to have a list of 70s stars and leave out the Queen of soul herself, Aretha Franklin. Ranked by Rolling Stone magazine as the number one greatest singer of all time, she certainly has her share of accolades in music history.
The song that she is perhaps best known for is “Respect,” with modern day millennials belting out the hook line even today.

It saddens us to say that Aretha is no longer with us physically, but we can all find common ground with the fact that she is definitely with all of us spiritually and emotionally.
Her legacy as a singer and a person will live on forever, and as Jack Black said bluntly in the hit comedy film School of Rock, “Everyone wanted to party with her.”
