From a young age, Ann-Margret knew she wanted to a be a performer. While her breakout role was playing the teenager, Kim MacAfee, in the musical ‘Bye Bye Birdie,’ Ann-Margret’s career continued well into the 1970s and 80s.
In 1971, she acted alongside famous actor, Jack Nicholson, in ‘Carnal Knowledge.’ Because Ann was such a success in the movie business, she earned herself a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1973. In 1975, she earned a nomination for Best Actress at the Academy Awards. Although she didn’t win, everyone still praised her for her fabulous performance in ‘Tommy.’

Today, Ann-Margret is acting much less, and prefers to spend her time with her step-children from her marriage to the now deceased Roger Smith. Sometimes, however, you can still catch a glimpse of Ann on the television screen, where she sometimes makes guest appearance.
Ann-Margret has been referenced as well in numerous other TV shows, such as ‘The Flintstones,’ and “Mad Men.’ Clearly, Ann-Margret has created a legacy for herself that will have people talking about her well past the time she leaves this earth.
