One of the main reasons why Modern Family proved to be so popular during the early seasons is because there was a real sense of emotion and passion within the show. You could see that the writers really wanted us to relate and connect to the characters, and we were able to do that.
Yet, as the years have gone by, the show seems to have lost its heart. It’s now trying to make episodes memorably for their humor, rather than their emotional connections. While we like a good laugh, we also love to feel close to the characters on the screen.
