John had no idea what to do. After all, it was a 10-foot deep hole, how was he meant to get Bruno out alone? He needed reinforcements, so called up his son, Bernie Billesberger. It wasn’t long before Bernie was on the scene, and he came armed with rope. Bernie carefully tied it around his waist and lowered himself into the hole. He didn’t care about his life; he just wanted Bruno brought to safety. Bernie used his most soothing voice to talk to Bruno as he carefully lifted him up to the top.
