One of the halves of country music supergroup Montgomery Gentry, Troy Gentry, met a woman named Angie near the beginning of his career in music.
The two fell in love, getting married in a destination wedding on the Hawaiian island of Maui in 1999.

During their marriage, the couple welcomed a daughter to the family, Kaylee.
When Angie was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2014, Troy launched a non-profit campaign to fight the disease called “check your headlights.” In 2017, he tragically lost his life in a helicopter crash.
