Toy, guitarist for the Marshall Tucker Band, met Abbie after coming back home from Vietnam.
For some reason, despite only living a few streets away from each other, the two had never met! But once they did, they immediately fell for each other, marrying after only three months of dating!

The two stayed married up until Toy’s death in 1993.
They had two girls named Cassady and Geneal Caldwell. Also, the song “AB’s Song” on the Marshall Tucker Band’s first ever album is dedicated to Abbie.
