In the wake of the successful auction, Sotheby’s decided to keep the identity of the buyer a secret out of respect for them. Given this mystery man or woman had paid out millions to be in possession of a very exclusive item, we’re not surprised they decided to keep things quiet. Of course, someone who has that much money to spend on a vase probably isn’t too concerned about people trying to steal from them. We expect their security systems are a lot stronger than ours.
