The 2004 shlock-fest known as Van Helsing was an attempt to find out if two great tastes really did go great together. Bringing the X-Men films’ Wolverine, Hugh Jackman, with Underworld’s vampire warrior, Kate Beckinsale, it ended up being a whole smaller than the sum of its parts.

But we’re not here to talk about how awful the movie was. Let’s talk CGI, namely the gaping mouths on Van Helsing’s vampires. Intended to mimic snakes dislocating their jaws, it looked cool in 2004 but looks practically amateurish now. And don’t get us started on their Wolfman…
