[post_page_title]Mars Attacks – A really alien concept[/post_page_title]
Mars Attacks! is kind of a crazy movie. It’s about… Well, it’s about Martians attacking Earth – and doing a pretty good job of it, too. Released in 1996, it tried to balance comedy, horror, and science-fiction, to somewhat mixed results.

Mars Attacks – A really alien concept

The aliens were actually created by George Lucas’ Industrial Light & Magic, after director Tim Burton wanted to use stop-motion animation but was pushed to using CGI when the budget increased. Today, it looks like that might have been a bad call. Say what you will, but stop-motion would not have aged that terribly.
