One of the many antagonists in the show is Barry Kripke, the character we all love to despise. His job is a bit of this and a bit of that, as he works as a string theorist as well as a plasma physicist, all while unsuccessfully trying to pronounce the letter “R.”
He uses his considerable intelligence to wind up Howard, Raj, Leonard, and Sheldon since coming into the show during the second season. Since then, he has appeared in every series of the show.
