It was a pretty simple, straightforward request, or so you might think. Serena put a lot of effort into these flowers, and was well within her rights to ask people not to pick them… right? Not everyone agreed, actually. Not long after Serena’s note, two more notes appeared on the same tree. The first, written in green marker, said that in a region “massively affected by gentrification” it was sad to see people claiming ownership of even the local flora.
That was followed by another note, which posited that flowers on public property belonged to everyone, and not just “the house they happen to fall in front of.” Just to complete the message, it was accompanied by some doodled blooms.
