In the wake of the note war, and the whole thing going viral on Twitter, Serena says the responses from people who wanted to speak up in support of her was “amazing.” People actually visited her home, she added, to express their support and sorrow over the rude notes, and her flowers being uprooted.
Another time, she stopped by the tree and re-read green marker’s note again. A neighbor saw her and came over, asking if she was okay. Overcome with emotion, Serena burst out crying, and the kind neighbor embraced her.
