A producer on “The Rifleman” revealed that the gun Chuck Connors used on the set had once been in the possession of another famous face. The man in question was none other than John Wayne, the actor famous for western films like True Grit. He’d previously used the weapon on the 1939 film Stagecoach back in the early years of his career. Connor was honored to use the same gun as the great actor, although it had to be slightly modified to fit his character.
